Catalyst staff conducted site assessment and remediation activities at a former aerospace manufacturing facility and characterized environmental liabilities at the site to support a property transaction.
Site assessment and remediation activities were conducted to characterize the nature and extent of impacts associated with the operations at a former aerospace manufacturing facility. The first step involved reviewing historic information to identify potential areas of concern based on past operations and infrastructure and designing a site assessment program to investigate those areas.

The scope of work involved the installation of 42 soil borings and the collection of over 200 soil samples for chemical analysis. In addition, the work also included the removal and remediation of an industrial wastewater clarifier and associated feed line permitted through the City of Los Angeles Department of Public Works Bureau of Sanitation.

Overall, approximately 361 cubic yards of petroleum hydrocarbon impacted soil was excavated from around the clarifier and transported offsite for disposal.

In addition, Catalyst used the collected data to characterize and quantify the environmental liabilities at the site to support the successful negotiations for the sale of property.
